How taipa got its name

Years ago a great big wave washed over the village (over the pa).   Flooding the village up to your ankles. Temporarily                   combining the water with the village. After the catastrophe died down the people left called it Taipa. 

The meaning for Tai is sea water and the meaning for pa is village
